WHAT IS OFFERED AT U•STORE•IT:
» What's the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The office hours are the hours of operation for the property when the facility manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The gate hours are the hours your rental unit can be accessed using your assigned electronic gate security code.
» What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
An outdoor unit has access from outside. An indoor unit is within the property and will require you to go inside to access your unit.
» What is a drive-up unit?
A drive-up unit is an outside unit, located on the first floor of a facility, that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck.
» Do you have moving carts available?
Push carts are available at many facilities with inside units accessed by inside hallways. If you are renting an inside unit and need a push cart, please let the facility manager know and they will be happy to assist you.
» What is a roll-up door?
Roll-up doors are very similar to garage doors and are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward. Roll-up doors are the most common door in self-storage and are bigger than most doors allowing tenants to maximize the space of their unit.
» What is climate control?
Climate control is a feature that we offer at many of our facilities around the country. Climate controlled units are cooled or heated to protect your stored belongings from the extreme temperatures.
» Do you offer RV/boat/car/motorcycle parking?
Specific U•Store•It locations offer parking for RVs, boats, cars and motorcycles. Find the U•Store•It closest to you to see if the service is available or call 1-800-800-1717 to find a location in your area with this offering.
» Can I buy boxes and other packing products from U•Store•It?
Yes. All U•Store•It facilities offer a wide variety of boxes and packing supplies.
SECURITY:
» What kind of security do you have?
U•Store•It strives to provide state-of-the-art security. We feature on-site managers, electronic gate with coded access, 24 hour video recording, fenced and well-lit facilities and personal locks available for purchase. Our security features vary by location so please contact your facility manager for details about a specific location.
» What does "on-site" manager mean?
"On-site" manager means that an employee, usually the facility manager, has an apartment on-site as part of the facility.
» Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?
You can purchase a new lock at your local U•Store•It facility and no one else will have a key to that lock. We offer a variety of sizes and types of locks, and to ensure the highest level of security, we highly recommend the purchase of a disc lock, also known as a cylinder lock.
» Can anybody drive onto this property or do you need a PIN number?
Most of our facilities have an electronic gate system which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. The code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.
» Do you have video cameras?
Many U•Store•It facilities use video cameras as a security measure. Cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and other areas around the facility. The number of cameras and the type of system that is installed at each facility will vary based on the design of the facility.
RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT:
» How far in advance can I book a reservation?
We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 30 days in advance to help you plan ahead.
» What are the payment terms?
U•Store•It wants to make your storage experience a stress-free experience, including paying your bill. Typically, our leases are month-to-month. We offer the convenience of AutoPay. We can automatically charge your Mastercard®, Visa®, or American Express® each month, or you can pay online in the View My Account section of our website.
» Do you accept credit cards?
We accept several major credit cards, including MasterCard®, Visa®, or American Express®.
» Can I pay my bills online?
Yes, paying your bill online is available in the View My Account section of our website.
SELECTING THE RIGHT SIZE UNIT:
» What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?
We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your storage needs. U•Store•It unit sizes range from 5x5, or 25 square feet, to 10x30, or 300 square feet. Determining the size of your storage needs is easy with the help of our Online Size Estimator. If you need further assistance, ask one of our facility managers who are trained to assist you in this process.
